More exhibitors, larger space, greater international attendance

The 7th expo PetroTrans, which ended on October 1, 2016 in Kassel after running for three days, again showed considerable gains in attractiveness for industry decision-makers – throughout Germany, but also internationally and far beyond European borders. The leading international fuel logistics show underscored its growing significance as an innovative platform with a significantly enlarged exhibition space, covering 12,500 square meters. In three halls of the Kassel fairgrounds, over 100 renowned companies from 14 countries displayed a full range of pioneering technologies and services for fuel transport. As the world’s largest exhibit of tank and transport vehicles with over forty models drew in visitors, the unique display again highlighted the quality and depth offered by expo PetroTrans.

Continued success

“The upward trend of the past years continued this year for expo PetroTrans: more exhibitors, a significantly larger space and noticeably more visitors,” summarized Alfred Lindner, Managing Director of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH, who was highly satisfied with the outcome of the event. The event again attracted over 4,000 visitors, about a third of whom came from other countries, to learn about cutting-edge technologies on three tradeshow days. A total of fifty nations were represented. For the first time, registered visitors came from countries such as Australia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and South America, adding to the global reputation the tradeshow has earned.

Networking and many attractions

In addition to the high-quality exhibit offers, visitors were also impressed with the tradeshow events, which included a wide range of offerings in a comprehensive supporting program with sensational high points. The presentations and seminars given by recognized experts on practical topics, which were offered free of charge to tradeshow attendees, were well attended. Visitors showed keen interest in new perspectives and solution approaches to practical situations that were brought up with professional expertise. The lively discussions and interested conversations again made the tradeshow the forum for exchange and networking it is well known for.

Efficient safety training

The offers of this year’s expo PetroTrans also included truck driver training to hone one’s driving skills, under virtually realistic conditions and in hair-raising situations. The Berlin-based company SiFaT Roadsafety GmbH had set up its professional truck simulator for testing and learning. The free high-tech driver safety training not only simulated original driver cabins by MAN, Mercedes and Scania, but also generated traffic situations that required nerves of steel and high responsiveness.

Driving demonstrations on the test track

The trainers of green duck GmbH used the outside terrain of the Kassel fairgrounds as a test track for truck maneuvers – one of the absolute highlights of this year’s expo PetroTrans. The demonstrations offered an exciting insight in the advanced skills required for the professional driver qualification and driver safety training the company provides. While the demonstration was exciting for bystanders to watch, those who participated as front passengers found the experience more than nerve-wracking.

Celebrating together

The large expo PetroTrans tradeshow party held on the evening of the second day again was an integral part of the event, belonging together like a semi-trailer and a tractor. Industry representatives came together for conversation among colleagues and to enjoy the event with live music as well as complimentary food and beverages in a relaxed atmosphere. At the invitation of the sponsors, the event offered a perfect framework for an unforgettable evening.

Outstanding innovations

Product innovations and developments are always at the center of the expo PetroTrans. The award for the three most remarkable innovations has become a coveted prize, which was expressed by the number of applications submitted by exhibiting companies this year. Still, there could only be three winners, which were selected by the professional audience and an independent jury of three industry experts. The high value of innovation was also evident in the artistically designed, hand-forged award trophy itself. The creative force behind the hand-made trophies is Albrecht Rühle, a fuel dealer from the Swabian town of Weinstadt-Endersbach, who has been a regular attendee of expo PetroTrans for years. The precious pieces were awarded as part of the festive closing of the tradeshow and underscored the innovative power of three award-winning companies

Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH was recognized for its FIS PressureControl, a sensor-controlled valve that prevents pressure damage during the filling and discharge of tank vehicles.

Omni Willig Carbon GmbH received an award for an innovative carbon fiber-reinforced plastic tank.

ROHR Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH set new standards with its Pit-Stop concept, which significantly shortens dispensing times with optimized flow characteristics.

Thoroughly positive response

Visitors and exhibitors along with event organizers were very satisfied with this year’s expo PetroTrans. The positive feedback praised the enlarged exhibition area in three halls, the fundamental orientation of the displays, the balance of the exhibition and the framework program, the event’s high quality as a forum for professional exchange, and the excellent overall organization. To all involved, many thanks for attending the 2016 event, and see you again at expo Petro Trans – the international tradeshow for logistics, transportation, and handling in the petroleum industry – on October 4 to 6, 2018 in Kassel!
